Our
commitments

Our land is what we hold most dear, it is our daily environment, where we work and where we live. We continuously strive to preserve its biodiversity, richness and distinctiveness.
Respect for our environment, as well as for the men and women who live on the land, is at the heart of our priorities.

Respect
for our terroir

We are committed to preserving our own local communities, the fabric of local economic life, and the general quality of life in rural areas. We are dedicated to the transmission of know-how between generations and to the preservation of what enables us to enjoy our way of life: our terroir.

Organic farming, High Environmental Value (HVE) certification, and the rational use of resources are all part of the ecological transition that we have initiated.

Organic wine production

65 hectares of the Univitis vineyards are currently certified organic. On these parcels, no herbicides or synthetic products are used. This is just one way in which we are committed to sustainability.
Within three years from now, more than 275 hectares of our vineyards will be certified organic.

HVE level 3

Today, we are happy to count 1200 Ha or about 60 winegrowers who meet the HVE criteria. The High Environmental Value (HVE) certification promotes environmentally friendly agricultural practices. This approach focuses on the development of biodiversity, the limitation of phytosanitary products and the promotion of natural fertilisation. In the future, all our vineyards will be HVE certified.

Terra Vitis

Some of our members are also Terra Vitis certified. This global certification approach takes into account the entire operation of the wine estate: its environment, its people and its economic viability.

Our actions to
increase biodiversity

Planting of hedgerows

Hedges planted around vineyards help to conserve soil, structure the landscape and have a natural windbreak effect. They also create a habitat for wildlife and birds.

Sowing of flower strips and winter sowing

Flowering seedlings promote animal and plant biodiversity, attract insects and provide a home for nesting birds. They also prevent soil runoff and contribute to the connectivity between the different landscape elements. Winter sowing, particularly of field beans, provides natural soil fertilisation.

Installation of nesting boxes and beehives

Nesting boxes are places for nesting, reproduction, and the reception of present and new species. Bees are good indicators of the quality of the environment and their importance in the ecosystem is no longer in doubt.

Establishment of grass strips

The grass is recolonised by insects, small mammals and birds.

Our commitments
to quality

Our primary commitment is to quality!

Quality of our land and of the work of the men and women, winegrowers and employees who make up our cooperative.
Quality of our equipment, from the reception of the harvest to the bottling of our products.

Grape quality:

Our technical wine advisors accompany our winegrowers and define with them a technical itinerary that takes into account the specifications of our appellations and the state of the vineyard and its management system. This support takes into account the soil, the plant and the human intervention throughout the vine cycle.

Wine quality:

Our oenologists monitor and supervise all the complex stages of wine making and maturation on a daily basis. They control, select, blend and taste the wines with one objective in mind: to produce the best vintages. It is the quality of the result that guides their choices.

Guarantee of the origin of our products:

The European AOP “Appellation d’Origine Protégée” (Protected Designation of Origin) label guarantees that a product has been entirely produced in the same area, in compliance with the grape varieties authorised by the designation.
The IGP “Indication Géographique Protégée” (Protected Geographical Indication) label guarantees the origin of the product in the same region. Our Vins de France, however, are exempt from certain production constraints. These wines are synonymous with a quality production based on “complete freedom”, by abandoning the constraints of the AOP specifications, and are controlled by France Agrimer, the official certification body for these types of wines.
