The diversity of our wines is a reflection of the grape varieties planted.
Each of them has been selected according to the nature of the soil which allows them to fully express themselves whilst growing.
Merlot is the majority grape variety in the Bordeaux region. It is recognisable by its intense colour but also by its red fruit aromas such as raspberry and strawberry, not forgetting its toasted notes which appear with time.
Cabernet Sauvignon is the epitome of the Bordeaux tradition. It is very colourful by nature, with aromas of black fruit, liquorice and mint. Thanks to the warmth of the gravelly soil, it reaches a late and optimal maturity. Rich in tannins, this variety contributes to the ageing of the wine.
Cabernet Franc blends perfectly with the other grape varieties. Medium in colour, it is appreciated for its complex aromas such as raspberry and violet. This variety favours a fresh wine with elegant tannins.
Sémillon is the main grape variety for creating sweet and syrupy whites. It is particularly noted for intense aromas of apricot and honey, enhanced by the “noble rot” (pourriture noble) process.
Sauvignon is the reference grape variety for dry, white Bordeaux wines. Recognised for its acidity, minerality and aromatic freshness, it produces wines with notes of citrus fruit, boxwood and fig leaves.
