For the end of the year celebrations, we offer you a selection of wines from the South-West of France that will perfectly match with Christmas dishes! For this occasion, discover our food and wine pairings specially designed for Christmas Eve.

1. For the aperitif: the Grand Théâtre Bordeaux range

To start your Christmas Eve, we have selected two wines from the Grand Théâtre Bordeaux range.
Our first selection is our Grand Théâtre Méthode traditionnelle rosé.
With its pretty pale pink color, its aromas of fresh red fruits and its fine bubbles, this sparkling rosé wine is perfect to start your meal.
You can enjoy this Grand Théâtre Méthode traditionnelle rosé in a cocktail with red fruit syrup.

Serve well chilled.

As an appetizer, enjoy finger foods such as mini-burgers with foie gras and onion or fig jam, a perfect dish for your Christmas party!
For those looking for originality, surprise your guests with sushi! Easy to make, you can alternate compositions: avocado and salmon or cooked tuna and cucumber, all associations are possible.

To accompany these appetizers, we suggest our Grand Théâtre Bordeaux Moelleux white wine.
With its floral notes, white flesh fruits and its beautiful bright yellow color, this wine from the South-West of France offers you a very nice balance between sweetness and vivacity.
Its hints of citrus and honey will surprise your guests’ palates!

To be enjoyed between 9° and 12°C.

2. As a starter: scallops served with our dry white wine from Château Les Vergnes

To start your dinner, we recommend pan-fried scallops. As an accompaniment, opt for a leek fondue and parmesan tuiles to bring some crunch to this beautiful starter.

To enhance this dish, pair it with a dry white wine from Château Les Vergnes.
Owned by Univitis, this estate is committed to sustainable production and respect for the environment by being cultivated in organic farming and holding the High Environmental Value label!
This Southwestern wine is fresh and bright on the palate with fresh aromas of yellow and green lemon blending with notes of apple and pear.
For the beginning of a meal, this wine pairing will delight your guests!

To be enjoyed between 9° and 12°C.

3. The dishes: ideas full of flavour

  • A pork confit with honey and thyme accompanied by our red wine from Château Vergnes-Beaulieu

For the main course, offer your guests a magnificent pork confit with honey and thyme.
This delicious and sweet recipe can be accompanied by pommes dauphines and roasted butternut.
Our tip: to properly confit your meat, use a cast iron casserole dish! Let it cook for 2 hours (2.5 hours maximum) and don’t forget to add a dash of pepper just before serving.

This time, for the dish, we suggest a red wine from Château Vergnes-Beaulieu.
With its ruby color and its nice purple reflections, this wine from the South-West offers you a nice freshness. On the nose, you will find a floral smell with a touch of red berries and plums. During the tasting, the suppleness of this wine and its soft tannins underline its freshness.
This fruity and generous wine is a perfect Christmas wine!

To be enjoyed between 15° and 17°C.

  • A roast duck breast served with Brennus AOP Bergerac

If you prefer poultry, we suggest you make a roast duck breast with fresh oyster mushrooms (and it’s just the right season!) and potatoes.

And what better wine to accompany a duck breast than a wine from the Southwest?
As a pairing, choose a red AOP Bergerac wine: the Brennus.
With its purple red color and its complex aromas of cooked prune, caramel and vanilla, it will reveal all the flavors of the duck breast.
Its tannins, both melted and powerful, will bring you roundness in the mouth, while leaving you a fruity taste.

To be enjoyed between 15° and 17°C.

4. For dessert: Gingerbread with walnuts and Grand Théâtre Méthode Traditionnelle Brut

Finally, we suggest you finish this meal with an emblematic (and greedy!) dessert: a gingerbread with nuts.
With its ingredients such as honey, cinnamon and of course walnuts and hazelnuts, this gingerbread will bring your guests back to their childhood memories. A gourmet moment of sharing!
To accompany this dessert, there is nothing like bubbles with our Grand Théâtre Méthode Traditionnelle Brut.
With its pale yellow color with golden reflections, this sparkling wine is perfect to end your Christmas Eve meal.
Its aromas of acacia and citrus fruits enhanced by spicy and roasted notes offer you balance and finesse in the mouth.

To be enjoyed well chilled.
